Work Placement

Work Placement

Throughout the job placement process, your EC will ensure you have a range of opportunities to consider. With our wide network of local and regional employers, industry groups, government and community partners, we can connect you when vacancies become available.

We currently deliver the Australian Government Community Development Programme (CDP) across Central West and South West Queensland. The CDP supports job seekers in rural Australia to build skills, address barriers and contribute to their communities.

We engage with a broad range of industries, including agriculture, tourism, construction, hospitality and government.

Through flexible activities and employment opportunities, we encourage job seekers to take pride in work that makes a difference to the community.

Community Projects

The RESQ team have developed a diverse range of community projects throughout South West and Central West Queensland, supporting local community groups who struggle to complete much-needed projects..

These projects help job seekers develop skills and experience, while also creating practical benefits for entire communities. Some activities give job seekers the opportunity to earn income such as our arts and crafts gallery in Charleville.

Some of our most significant programs include:

The Wild Dog Exclusion Fencing program

This program provides labour to build exclusion fencing across Central West Queensland in conjunction to help reduce environmental damage caused by feral animals, manage grazing pressure and protect the area for native animal breeding. Trainees develop sought-after fencing skills in addition to good work habits and team communication.

The Weeds of National Significance Eradication program

This program works with local and state government to tackle the ongoing weed infestation of valuable grazing land. Job seekers gain training and experience in spraying weeds safely while helping restore productive land.

The Lost Art program

In partnership with Red Ridge (Interior Queensland) Ltd, the Lost Art program encourages participation in arts and crafts to strengthen rural commerce. Participants produce handmade products and traditional leather craft to sell at local markets.
